EEEEEEEEEKKKK!!! THE HORROR!!

OK, now that that's out of the way...

I guess that Vista might have a few things to make using it easier. However, if what I've heard about it is correct, it comes with a lot of what could very well be considered spyware on it. The special spyware-like programs check to make sure you aren't doing anything that Microsoft or the RIAA wouldn't approve of, and apparently, it slows down things greatly and sometimes keeps the computer from being able to do some things that are perfectly legal.

However, I've heard that there are some versions of Vista that don't suffer from it as much and are actually pretty good. If you want to keep using Vista, go ahead. It's not as though I can stop you.

My predictions:
The Matrix V1.0 will be made by the adult entertainment industry. V2.0 will be made by the video game industry.

The robot uprising will consist of two steps.
1. Give humans free sexbots.
2. Wait.

lol, yeah and a lot of what you heard was exaggerated, yes there were some spyware-esc features in vista but none that had to do with files or the formats you can use. it was about checking to see if our copy was legit... and they removed that in a update a few months back because it didn't even work >_< besides they've been limiting your abilities with files for a long time... back when i upgraded from 98 to 2000 i was shocked, SHOCKED to discover i could no longer hit record from windows sound recorder and capture my cd player..... its nothing new XD

The only complaint i have heard that is legit and I can verify is that it has some driver issues with older peripherals... which while annoying is not something i can fault them for. there is the resource hog issue... but there upfront about it so its a purchase decision point not a flaw in my opinion XD the key point i make is that Hype good or bad is just that Hype, which is why i ignore it. i did the research and found vista to be essentially a prettier XP and since i was getting a new laptop said 'what the hey, lets try it out'. and you know what all the people saying vista is a horseman of the apocalypse are the same people saying that the iphone is the Messiah.... there just crazy people with bullhorns... pay them no heed.
