Tyson Class Atmospheric Shuttle.

A design mostly unchanged from the days of pre-colonization, the Tyson Class has been the work horse of extra atmospheric travel for most Human factions. One of the first fully return and reusable space capable vessels made by humanity it has a fairly impressive service record as a class.

The advent of the Tyson made viable a multitude of commercial ventures in the lunar sphere, and was mass produced by the end of the 2080's. Since then the equipment has been updated but no major changes have ever become popular.

The Tyson sports twin Scram jets for atmospheric flight, and for the transition and in space flight has two RT-I11 Ion thrusters (latter upgraded to the RT-I22). It has a passenger cabin (60 seats) and large Cargo hold, as well as a fairly comfortable crew accommodation.

Tyson's were also favorites for expedition and colony ships during the expansion period. By that time they were relativity cheap to produce/procure; and for very costly colony missions the comparison to some of the newer 'exploration landers' being pushed on the ventures were stark.

New Tysons are being built even now in modern UEC and NSL worlds and can be seen in the skies of every human world.
