fighters.... for some reason i find them hard to design. despite my inability, Ive managed to make these three somewhat presentable.
follows is tchno blah blah......
Storm Crow (top)
the Storm Crow is the main aerospace fighter of the NSL. It is a heavy interceptor with re-entry capabilities and (booster assisted) escape velocities. It features under mounted forward facing rapid fire rail gun; and also has under brackets for a variety of projectile packages, ranging from small countermeasures to high yield bombardment.
A nimble and well equipped ship, the Storm Crow has a formidable electronics package allowing for adaptive multi targeting and counter electronic warfare. they fly in wings of 3 and groups of 12. Or more often as the lead craft in a larger swarm of smaller fighter craft.
Reassembled form left over parts of a Storm Crow Grackle are mid interceptors that have 2 rapid rail guns but have less mount points for missiles than the Storm Crow. they also do not have nearly as sophisticated targeting systems as there older siblings. neither can they reenter or escape the atmo, it can however operate in either. It tends to be preferred by outer colonies who have mush smaller budgets than core worlds.
This small interceptor has a short range but can get to the end of that range faster than any other interceptor on hand. its unique thrust grill allows for variable multi axis thrust. meaning it can turn on a dime and shoot up down right left as well as it can forward. the standard tactic of the Jackdraw is to outmaneuver the foe and pick at it continually in forced rapid orbit around it. this is a space only fighter.
